The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its extremist militias linked to the former regime continue their brutal crimes against innocent civilians. SAF warplanes bombed several hospitals and residential neighborhoods in Kabkabiya, Kutum, and Um Saila in North Darfur.

This barbaric aerial bombardment resulted in the deaths and injury of dozens of people, including women and children. Rescue operations are now underway.

The indiscriminate bombing and destruction of hospitals in Kutum, and Kabkabiya – and previously the Babiker Nahar Hospital for Children – highlight the return of the decades-long practices of oppression and horror of the terrorist former regime, led now in this new iteration by SAF General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his criminal minders from the National Congress Party. Their actions pose a serious threat to the stability of Sudan, the region, and the world.

At this critical juncture, decisive national action is imperative. Despite our consistent condemnation of the targeting of innocent civilians by the SAF and its terror-driven patrons from the former regime, practical steps to halt these violations have been lacking. The silence of human rights organizations has emboldened this terrorist gang to continue their defiance of international conventions that criminalize the intentional destruction of civilian infrastructure, particularly hospitals.

Our forces have exercised the highest degree of restraint, driven by a moral responsibility to preserve the social fabric of our country.

The chaotic practices of the SAF under Al-Burhan, alongside its allied mercenary groups and terrorists using Port Sudan as a war base, necessitate decisive and advanced steps. We must eliminate this threat and liberate our people from these murderers once and for all.
